Worship & Music

Worship Onsite & Online

Sundays at 10:00 am Central Time

We invite you to worship on campus or online at 10:00 AM CT, with hospitality time following the liturgy onsite.

Online livestream worship is found on our YouTube channel here.

Worship at FELC emphasizes grace, encountering God in Christ through Word and Sacrament, experiencing holiness and mystery through music, beauty, ritual, silence, and the gathered community. You are invited to participate in ways that are meaningful for you. Our worship is rooted in the historic, liturgical, and musical traditions of the church while enjoying church music from all eras and other world cultures.

At First English, we strive to use language for God, Christ, and humanity that is inclusive and diverse. Our use of non-gender, feminine, and masculine names and metaphors for God, both biblical and contemporary, shows God more fully. Languages that include persons of all gender identities and sexualities, ethnicities, and color, helps us better reflect God’s inclusive love for all.

The entire worship liturgy is printed in the bulletin, making it more accessible to participate even if unfamiliar with liturgical worship.

Our website has a webpage where you can find our YouTube videos. The webpage will show current livestreams as they happen, and the previous 5 livestream videos.  This will be a more user-friendly way to watch. The webpage can be found here: https://www.felcaustin.org/livestream

Music

Music is an important part our worship and ministry. We have an excellent choir of adults. We encourage participants of all ages to learn a new skill, enhance a talent, serve in community, and build relationships.

Children, youth and adults with various abilities sing and play instruments, including percussion.

First English hosts a wide variety of musical concerts and recitals in our sanctuary, which is known in the Austin area for its rich acoustics that make music come alive. For more information, contact Bryan Rust.
