What We Lost, What We Learned, What We Long For
In Person in the Parlor and on FELC Community Zoom
Sundays through October 25 at 9:00 AM
The Covid-19 pandemic has been an experience of exile from community, church, and normal daily life. Many have experienced loss, trauma, and anxiety. Returning from this kind of exile (even as we are still going through the pandemic) needs time, prayer, and thoughtfulness to process what we have lost, what we have learned, and what we long for now.
Pastor Coffey leads participants through a process of exploring what this pandemic has meant for us. We will consider how biblical texts of exile can speak to our current experience. Participants will be invited to write a journal entry of their own experience of the Covid-19 pandemic, which will be collected into a congregational journal for future generations to read and understand how we came through this extraordinarily difficult time. We share together what we have lost, learned, and long for. We listen for ways that God is speaking and guiding us through this moment toward a future of God’s gifting.
