Pancake Brunch begins at 11:30 AM
Talent show begins around Noon.
We have a long tradition of enjoying the Fastnacht* pancake supper and talent show. Our tradition has also been to have our vicar be in charge of this event. After a few years of seeing a decline in attendance, and having no vicar this year, we are going to have a Fastnacht Shrove Sunday pancake brunch and talent show on March 3. This will allow more people to enjoy this fun community event. It might also make it less cumbersome to attend Wednesday evening Ash Wednesday services, which normally requires coming to FELC 2 nights in a row.
We will end our worship on March 3 with the burning of the palms for Ash Wednesday. We’ll enjoy our normal hospitality time, and then begin the pancake brunch at 11:30. The talent show will begin around Noon. Join us for a fun event. This is a great opportunity to invite someone to join you for worship and brunch. Have a talent to share? *Fastnacht is a German word meaning something like “night before fasting” and is a tradition of eating fried foods prior to Ash Wednesday and Lent when one might begin to fast.
